My dear son, my only child Evan Harlan Artz, lost his battle with addiction on February 16, 2016.

Evan was a beautiful boy who was very smart. He was finishing up his degree from Stony Brook University. Majoring in psychology. His goal was to help other people who were struggling.

Evan reached out to so many during his twenty seven months of being sober. Many friends said that they owed Evan their lives because of his concern.

I miss Evan’s wit, his sense of humor, his accents that he used, his loving side and his big heart
