Jesse Reynolds
May 2, 1990 - Sept 21, 2019
My son suffered with addiction for years. He was on Suboxone which is preferable than illegal opiates. However, for some it never teaches them how not to depend on a drug to face the stresses of life and address any mental illness.
My son, Jesse, was brilliant. He was in the gifted and talented program at school and even studied Russian for 7 years. Jesse played both the trumpet and piano. He was involved with the NYS School Music Association (NYSSMA) at all levels. My son and I together owned a very successful marketing company.
Jesse was having a very stressful night dealing with his dad’s death that happened three years prior. According to his phone texts, the drug dealer had some “fire” stuff to take the stress away. All was needed was $20. My son took the bait thinking that he was buying $30 worth of heroin. However, it was 100% Fentanyl and killed him instantly. I found Jesse on my kitchen floor but he was already gone.
This happened Sept 21, 2019. A piece of me left with him. I lost my only child; my business partner; my best friend. Jesse was a functioning drug addict. He always held down a job and helped the world. He was a true entrepreneur and taught everyone whatever he could.
I miss everything about him – his beautiful smile; his great big bear hugs; his brilliance in helping all our clients achieve above and beyond their marketing needs.
It is getting harder for me almost 1 year later. The shock is wearing off and the reality of him never coming back is setting in. I’m so grateful to this group.
