Steven Meston
Jan 17, 1990 - Dec 12, 2020
Steven Lee was my middle child whom I loved very much. He struggled from bipolor disorder and major depression. I think that he started using drugs to relieve or self-treat the distress he was experiencing due to his mental health disorder.
I don’t know which drug he first started with, pot or whatever, but his drug use escalated to where he was using heroin.
For many years he tried to get “clean” but it was just as scary for him as being on drugs. Steven did not know what to expect next in his life. However, he never wanted to disappoint us, his parents.
Steven was a sweet kid and a sweet young man. Even when he was in active addiction, he was always willing to help another person. When he wasn’t high, he was at his best.
I miss his smile. I miss being in the car with him and rocking out to classic rock. I miss being able to go with him to concerts. I miss joking around with him. I just miss him so damn much!
